IMPORTANT: There must be someone by the computer to scroll up/down and click when necessary. If that person is a student, s/he must also do the activities.

REMEMBER: Written activities must be in your notebooks, under date and reference (e.g.: Blog, day 1, activity 1)

DAY 1


1.-Have a look at the billboard.
*What is a fare? Can you think of two examples where you can include this word?
*What do you think is fair in the English class? Can you think of two different situations which are fair and two which are unfair?
*What do you think the word 'muni' can be an abbreviation of?
*What kind of message is that (commercial, protest, promotional...)?
*What's the slogan? Do you think it's a good one? Why? / Why not?


2.-Click on the picture of the billboard above and carefully read the list of some of the most common homophones (words which are spelt differently but pronounced the same), as the two in the pic (fair and fare).
*Work with your partner(s) and make a longer list in your notebook.


DAY 2

Today, you are going to work on cause / result connectors. Then, you are going to read a dialogue about the importance of learning English.

1.-*Click on the picture above and carefully read the different connectors. Also read the examples. Keep on reading and see how sentences can be changed. Can you appreciate the difference between cause and effect?
*Choose two examples in the list in the document and change them, from expressing cause into result or the other way round.
*Make two different lists in your notebook, indicating 'Cause connectors' or 'Result connectors' as heading.

2.-*Click on the pic above ("Results just ahead") and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on the link to englishgrammar.org and then on the tab "TOPICS", on the left. Scroll down till you get to "Lessons" and click. Then click on "Practice dialogues". Read the dialogue.
*Make a list of the things, according to the participants, English is useful for.
