E1B-Unit 10 (II)

Hello everyone.

Thanks to the students who have uploaded the Coronavirus activities. I remind you there's still time to do it.

Let's continue with the book, Unit 10. I hope you did the exercises last week and you did well.
The first tasks today are vocabulary-related. I'd like you to study page 92 in your Workbook. You have three sections in that page: first, time linkers, which are the words we use to express the time of the message; then, you have illness collocations, i.e., specific verbs which are used with some illnesses; finally, you have some keywords in context. You all know most of these words, maybe the only new ones are nearby=cercano, which is an adjective (e.g.: The zombies moved to the nearby door), do not confuse with near=cerca, which is an adverb;  and to overcome= to succeed in dealing with a problem, i.e.: superar.

Now, you can do the vocabulary exercises in your SB (page 112, exercises 1, 2 & 3) and in your WB (page 93). Remember to write the date and the reference in your notebook, as we have always done. I will publish the answers to these exercises next Wednesday.

*******
The past perfect is the tense we are studying in this unit, as you already know. In the pic below you can see the timeline associated to this tense. Click on it and you will see more explanations.
In the next link you have some execises on the past perfect combined with the simple past.

Okuda's Gioconda

How are you doing with There's a boy in the girls' bathroom? Hopefully, by the end of this week you will have to complete a quiz on the first 10 chapters of the book, so don't forget about this task.Remember you can email me if you have any questions.KEEP TRACK OF ALL YOUR ONLINE WORK: TAKE SCREENSHOTS AND SAVE THEM IN YOUR 'DIGITAL WORKBOOK'.
