Good afternoon, everyone.

Today we are starting Unit 8: Unusual lives.

We are going to start this unit focusing on the grammar: the past simple tense.
In the last unit, we studied the past simple tense of regular verbs: we only need to add -ed to the base form.
In this unit, we are going to study the past tense of irregular verbs.

Vamos a empezar esta unidad centrándonos en la gramática: the past simple tense.
En la unidad anterior estudiamos el pasado simple de los verbos regulares: sólo tenemos que añadir     -ed a la forma base del verbo.
En esta unidad, vamos a estudiar el pasado simple de los verbos irregulares.

Irregular verbs don't have the same pattern in the past, that is why they are irregular. Therefore, we need to learn each of them.

Los verbos irregulares no tienen el mismo patrón en el pasado, es por eso que son irregulares. Por tanto, necesitamos estudiarlos uno a uno.

The next thing you have to do is the activity in the link of a passage in Lisbon. Copy and complete the chart in your notebook. Remember to write the date and the reference.

La siguiente actividad está en el enlace del callejón de Lisboa. Copia la tabla en tu cuaderno y complétala. No olvides poner la fecha y la referencia.

Now you are ready to start working with your books. Go to the Grammar section, Unit 8, at the back of your Workbook (page 114) and study the chart (leave the questions for the time being). Finally, do the exercises in page 101 of your Student's Book and pages 57, 59 and 115 in your Workbook. I will upload the answers on Friday.

Ahora puedes empezar a trabajar con tus libros. Ve a la página 114 del Workbook, a la sección de Grammar. Estudia la tabla con los tiempos en pasado (por el momento no estudies las frases interrogativas). Por último, haz los ejercicios de las páginas 101 (SB) y 57, 59 y 115 (WB). Os daré las respuestas el viernes.
